The Sunday Canoe Trip

If you are interested in paddling on the Cannon River with us on Sunday, here's the scoop:

-- We'll meet at 10:00 a.m. in Welch. MAP

-- We'll use Welch Mill Canoeing as our outfitter.

-- We'll put in at Riverside Park in Cannon Falls and paddle back to Welch.
(If you have your own boat, you could meet us in Cannon Falls ~10:30 a.m. and get shuttled back with someone at the end of the day.)

-- The 11 river-mile trip should take about five hours to paddle.

-- Here's a Description of the River and a River Map.

-- Please: E-mail me at cmahler22 AT yahoo DOT com, if you intend to paddle. I need to get a rough head-count to the outiftter by Friday afternoon.

Let me know, too, if you're paddling your own boat or not.

The Saturday Morning Run

If you want to get your daily exercise in in festive fashion, join us for a morning run at the Carleton Arboretum!

We'll meet at 9:00 a.m. at the little parking lot on Highway 19 between West Gym and the road to Rec Center.

There's a map HERE.

There are options for loops as short as a mile or as long as you want. (Me, I'm hoping to get an easy 30 minutes in.) Feel free to join us even if you're only going to walk.

Can You Get There From Here?

The map to our farm can be found HERE.

We're at 8919 280th Street West, Northfield, MN 55057

280th Street is also known as County Highway 86.

So ...

If you're coming from Northfield, take Highway 3 north to County 86 west.

If you're coming via I-35, take the Elko-New Market (260th Street) exit and follow the map to us.

If you're coming via Highway 52, just follow County 86 west from just north of Cannon Falls.

We'll mark our driveway with something festive. If you're coming from the east, we're the right turn just after you cross a wide, wetland valley. Coming from the west, we're on the left as you begin to descend into the valley, what the locals call "The Dip."

The Weather Forecast

You can find the latest weather forecast for the wedding HERE.

Should showers be predicted, please bring an umbrella!
